Eight-inch floppies would entail laffs. Five-1/4 wouldn’t do it. So we had to bet on the new 3-1/2″ floppies. When we started the project a box of ten 3-1/2” floppies was $50, in 1988 money. For awhile, Engineering and Marketing shared a box each. The HD version allowing dual sided copying allowed you to fill memory put it all took time.
